Parts of the tarmac having been washed away on Fish House Lane, Stoke Prior. Where 2 become 1: the flood water from 2 brooks meets by Fish House Lane thus causing it to flood so badly. Fish House Lane the dy after the floods. Flood waters receeding the day after the downpours. Water receeds back to its original path at Stoke Prior. Brand new drainage pipes are put to the test in there first flood situation and look to be under alot of pressure. Pathways washed away on the Worcester to Birmingham canal near Stoke Prior. The Worcester - Birmingham canal struggles to cope with the rain as nearby buildings try in vein to keep the water out. Fish House Lane meets the River Salwarpe! Fish House Lane turns into a river as the Sewage works overflow bursts its banks and routes itself towards the lane. Fish House Lane turns to a river as the rain continued to fall. Water as far as the eye could see on private property in Stoke Prior. Major pressure causes this footbridge to quiver as the water cascades against it. Water close to breaking over the footbridge leading to the former South Bromsgrove school site. External pipes under pressure at Bromsgrove Market carpark. The brook passing the market car park flows at speed. Capacity is tested at the rear of the Dog & Pheasent pub in Bromsgrove. There are usually 2 outgoing pipes here that can normally be seen. Much more rain would have seen the car park at the market under water. This recess is usually 6ft deep The river Salwarpe in flood seen from the road bridge by St.Michael's Church, Stoke Prior. Sugarbrook swelling up from Aston Fields industrial estate opposite CDM. The Sugarbrook keeps rising with the rainfall increasing. A footbridge dissapears under the water. A crossing bridge regularly used by workers on the Aston Fields Industrial estate as a short cut to Morrisons Supermarket completely dissapears under the torrent of flood water. New pipe work at Breme Park under extreme pressure, however the pipes were made large enough to take even more water as seen by the gap at the top of the exit pipe. Brand new pipes at the former Garringtons site yet to be tested. Demolition in progress A view of the substation pylons in the evening dusk of 12th April 2004 A concrete base of an internal machine is buried after the top layer is chipped away. Seen here before burial. After the heat treatment oil pits were dug out it left crators across the wasteland. The deserted factory access gate in B5 car park. On closer inspection oil that had leaked through cracks in the pits could be seen in the earth. The last building to be demolished on the UEF site. Used as a temporary reception for Persimmon Homes until February 2007 Kimal factory overlooks the future sight of 3 story apartments. The temporary view of Aston Fields industrial estate from the now 'Railway Walk' road before construction of the housing estate. The converted oil lamp that used to stand on the entrance gates in familiatr Garringtons blue. The evidence of oil in the soil can be seen by the black line in the former pit of a heat treatment oil pit. Oil & clay deposits can been easily seen in the scraped earth of a former pit. The clay deposits helped hold the water in the dug out pits. On closer inspection oil can be seen in this polluted earth. The Foundations of what was to be 'Railway Walk'. The old path of the brook used to run alongside the new road just before the grass bank on the right. Houses now stand on the former brook bed. Contaminated soil on the former heat treatment site. UEF in the process of demolition. The Former road to Garringtons Social Club was raised & re-laid. Now known as 'Railway Walk', seen here before the houses were developed. 12-4-2004 Soon to become a housing estate. Graffiti on the 'B5' toilet wall says farewell. Over halfway through demolition.
